Mounted galvanized steel in high humidity environment

My company is about to produce a job for one of our clients. The approach we're taking on this job is a new one for all of us involved. We are going to attempt to mount galvanized steel to sintra which is a durable plastic material. My question is, these pieces are going to be displayed in an area with constant high humidity, how is this going to effect the steel? And can any precautions be taken to prevent any of the effects, such as a polyurethane coating of some sort.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Is it structural steel or lighter gauge steel? Structural steel will have a thicker galvanized coating (3-4 mils or higher), but would definitely benefit from some type of coating in a "High Humidity" environment. If it is lighter gauge material it should probably be coated. Paint manufacturers can reccommend different coatings over galvanized surfaces.
