SWest Electroplating unit damaged - ideas for repair?

The SWest Electroplating unit in our shop was damaged when one of the jewelers put in a 25 Amp fuse, when no more than a 10 Amp fuse is recommended. This particular unit has 2 meters: 0-10 VDC and 0-10 Amp DC. The 0-10 Amp DC meter is wired in series, so I replaced it with a new one. However, we are able to only draw about 1 Amps when we try it (where the unit used to draw upwards of 10 amps DC peak.) So, there must be something else wrong as well. The other 3 components I would guess that would be likely be suspect, and limiting our DC current include:

1) AC voltage rheostat;
2) Transformer 125 volt primary 10 volts at secondary
3) rectifier - getting 10 volts AC where connected to transformer secondary; and, 10 volts DC max out

I have looked all over the internet trying to find a schematic for this unit. So, I'm not sure where to go next. Thank you in advance for any ideas or help you may have.

What you probably need is a rectifier repair serviceperson. S/he will have the instruments and experience to fix this in nothing flat, and will have access to replacement voltmeters, ammeters, shunts, and whatever else you need.
