Powdercoating performance benchmarks

I am currently undertaking a business course project on an aluminum extrusion and powder coating company. While I have a feel for their performance in powdercoating I have no idea what constitutes Good or Best Practice What would you consider a good level of performance for an extrusion power coating operation in terms of reject rate?

Note this operation conducts in the region of 20 colour changes per day and powder coats around 1 million pieces per annum.

Hi, Ian.

Letters 14440 and 834 give a couple of opinions, Ian. But you may be aware that some "Six Sigma" folks feel that a reject rate beyond six sigma (3.4 rejects per million) can and should be improved upon :-)
