The whole Gulf Coast is rusting away

Does rust form on anything.... I know that rust forms on metal over a long period of time when it's exposed to moist air. Well I live on the Gulf Coast and metal forms quite often here and I want to know if its true metal is not the only thing that rust particles are attracted to. T

Rust is by definition the oxidation of iron or iron bearing alloys. Copper and aluminum Etc corrode. Yes, if it is an iron alloy, it needs to have some form of surface protection or it will rust. That is why you see more and more fiberglass and plastic items on the Gulf Coast.
