Sub-con needs confirmation that Def Stan 03-25/3 and MIL-A-8625 are equivalent
2003
I require confirmation that Degreasing to Def Stan 03-2/3 Section 4 & sulfuric Anodise to Def Stan 03-25/3 & Dichromate Seal is a direct alternative/equivalent to Anodising IAW MIL-A-8625 / MIL-PRF-8625 [on DLA] Type II Class I. Can anyone confirm this statement for me.

I haven't read and have no knowledge of Def Stan 03-2/3 or 03-25/3 but you should be able to download a copy of Mil-A-8625 at http://assist.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/ and compare them at your leisure.
Good luck,

The easy answer is no.
The more complex answer is that the film is the same what is missing with the Def Stan anodise is the process control test panels.
Def Stans say more what to do than Mil standards, as they are more prescriptive they tend to be lighter on proving the properties of the coatings.
Mil standards tend to say more about the tests required to prove that the coating is good.
Thus you could process a part to the Def Stan in the same tanks but you would have to ensure that the testing was in place as per the Mil standard, this means a lot of test panels and you would really need your own salt spray cabinet as sub-contract testing would cost an arm and a leg.
