How to get sleigh bells tuned/toned

Q. I bought a 2-octave set of toned sleigh bells (for my own amusement, and for church special music) almost a year ago from a family friend, but find that some of the bells on more than one strap need to be toned. Where/how on earth can I find a place to do this!?

A. Hi,
I know this instrument very well and it can be tuned.
If you can post pictures, I can see what kind of sleigh bells you have so I can tell you if I can help tune them. Try to zoom them as much as possible, so I can see the material and design, and also a picture of the whole instrument, with the notes of each strap.

I hope I can help you.

Glass Fire

! Carlos I can't figure out how to attach a picture, but too late now anyway. They were brass and I am so sad I just now saw your answer! 2 1/2 years ago I lost the bells when our house burned to the ground in the Glass Fire. I have been trying to find a replacement set ever since.

A. Hi Sylvia. Very sorry to hear that you were a victim of that terrible fire.
If you should have a future need to upload a pic, you just attach it in an email to mooney@finishing.com.
