EASY alternative to anodizing to protect against fingerprints
2003
Hello,
I am currently looking for an easy alternative to anodizing aluminum. I currently have a brushed aluminum case, but I want to protect it from fingerprints, etc. This case will be inside and on a shelf, so durability isn't really a issue. I have heard maybe car polish?
Also, I used spray lacquer before but it gave the metal a frosted appearance that I don't really like. Would a "brush on" lacquer be better? Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks, (also I am in a dorm room, so chemical baths aren't really an option)

Car wax ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] might well be best, but it's a temporary solution. As for the lacquer, it should not have come out frosty; something was wrong with the material or the application method.
