EN thickness is reduced by baking?
Could you tell me why is it that after electroless nickel plating when we check the thickness by thickness tester(magnetic base) enp(high phosphorus) shows a higher thickness than when we check the same component after doing the heat treatment.

Heat treatment increases EN coating magnetism and hence, an apparent decreased thickness on a magnetic base metal. Thus, if measuring per ASTM B499 -- Method of Measurement of Coating Thickness by the Magnetic Method: Nonmagnetic Coatings on Magnetic Basis Metals, "the instrument should be calibrated against heat-treated standards of known coatings thickness or equivalent calibration foils." MIL-C-26074 [on DLA], paragraph 6.4.
