Information Required on Nano-scale Diamonds in Plating
I have read an article in an engineering magazine regarding the application of nano-scale diamonds to machine parts undergoing chrome plating. This is to extend the life of the parts by adding diamond as part of the plating process to embed the diamonds in the metal plating. Does anybody have any further information on this subject? Are there any similar processes which would cost less?

Diamond particles can be encapsulated in chromium plating as well as electrolytic or electroless nickel plating. I imagine that other metals could be used as the binder as well, although these are the only three that I have heard of.
A starting point for the chromium plating with diamonds would be Dr. Ned Mandich who has published papers on this. A starting point for the nickel plating with diamonds would be Surface Technology; their founder, Dr. Nate Feldstein (dec.) was probably the principal developer of the technology.
