Protective treatments for magnesium
Q. I am using a chromic acid conversion coating to protect magnesium, only to find that when coated the coating soon breaks down .What should this chromating solution consist off , and what are the optimum conditions for use

You are right, Ilya! People should contact their suppliers for information about these new processes.
If you can help update our FAQ in non-commercial fashion, mentioning your competitor's equivalent products each time you mention your own, we would be very pleased to add your addendum. But most (or all) of these new treatments are proprietary, and trying to toss together sales literature and peer-reviewed published technical articles would make for a very unpalatable salad :-)
