Automated Polishing of Stellite

We currently investment cast stellite and machine part surfaces using lathe. Our parts are hand polished to a range of 16, 8, and even 4 finish in some locations. I am interested in methods of automated polishing that would accomplish the same quality of surface finish. Are there any other polish equipment , excluding electropolishing, that could bulk polish components. I remeber at one time seeing an advertisement for equipment that used an extruded media (fluidized bed?) that could be pumped back and forth across the metal surfaces to effectively polish them. Tumble polishing methods with various media may also be an option. I would hope to minimize cleaning parts after processing and would solicit cleaning methods for polishing methods proposed.

Brian:

REM Chemicals in Brenham, Texas has several chemically accelerated tumbling processes for Stainless Steels, Titanium and most nimonic alloys. They are very good at producing highly reflective finishes on metal surfaces.

Good luck,
