Silver plating on Invar




Silver plating on Invar 36. we have problem of peeling off of silver plated foil from undercoat of plated/electroless nickel on subjecting the articles to heat test of 300 °C for 3 hours. this is in spite of all activation of nickel before silver striking, dipping article in KCN sol'n before connecting live in silver strike etc. Please help.

Sharad,

Try to use a nickel strike like woods nickel strike based on sulfuric acid instead for EN or watts nickels strike based on chloride.
