Avoiding buffing wheel marks

2003

Hello ,

I hope that you might have an answer or a tip for me. I am in the process of polishing the BIG aluminum tank on my fuel truck (yes the big tank on the back). I am nearly done , it looks beautiful and shiny until I look at it when the sun hits it, that's when all of the marks show up from the buffing wheel.

I used a Makita 6 speed buffer/ grinder along with a yellow wheel and the brown rouge bar, then I switched to a white wheel with the white buffing bar this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] for what I thought was the final step. I have tried different speeds ,different directions and hand buffing with rags and Zephers polish and I'm still discouraged.

Will the marks fade over time or am I missing a step or two.I have about 35 hours into this truck and I want it to look good.

hope to hear from you soon , Mike Hornstra

Hi,

Did you use Simichrome this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] after you used the white buffing bar this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ? That might do it.
