Procedure for passivating steel
What is the procedure for passivating SS 302 stainless steel that is going to welded with 17-4-PH hardened stainless steel.

I think the procedure is to weld it first, and then passivate it, not vice versa. Prasath. Good luck.

You always need to passivate after welding. If you use the right formulation, you can do this with excellent results with a citric acid formulation. We have good results with this, even with the 17-4PH in contact with the austenitic steel. Let us know if we can help.
