SUITABLE METHODS TO PREVENT RUSTING OF L-LAMINATIONS
2003
Madam/Sir,
Subject : MY SEARCH FOR SUITABLE METHODS TO PREVENT RUSTING OF STACKED/RIVETED LAMINATIONS (OF CURRENT TRANSFORMERS).
(1) Our company is an organization which specializes in design-&-manufacture of magnetic components (transformer solutions) for telecom and current measurement.
(2) As part of our continuous improvement activity, we need to solve some of the technological hurdles listed below.
(3) Once we stack and rivet our laminations (for current transformers), some of the outer surfaces of the stacking get rusted. Our aim is to prevent this rusting.
(4) Applying oil on the individual-laminations or on to the stacked-laminations, is not the best way (nor is it the permanent method), to prevent rusting.
(5) I wish to enquire from you, whether you can supply to us, the most suitable item we have been searching for. Any other relevant suggestions from you shall be most welcome.
(6) Awaiting your response.
Regards, Mr. DEEPAK

Dear Mr. Deepak,
The way this is handled worldwide is by E-Coating the entire transformer assembly.
