Detecting resin impregnation of aluminum

Q. I have a supplier who used polymer material that does not have UV dye in it and therefore pores do not glow with UV light. Is there another method to find out the polymer used? And how could we analyze the type of polymer used? Thanks.

Q. Hello, I would like to know if there is any method of detecting whether an aluminum casting has already undergone resin impregnation or not.

We would like to know this info on the batch without subjecting it to leak test/ taking up for assembly.

Please send your replies at asap.

Q. Did you receive any answers to your posted letter? I am struggling with a similar issue here.

A. Most resin impregnation materials have a UV tag so inspection of porous area under UV light should show porosity glowing. inspection of a fractured surface can work better than casting surface inspection.

Under pressure test does it leak?

Does this help?
