Where to find / How to do Rust paint

About a year ago I saw one of those "do it yourself" shows. They were painting kitchen cabinets using a two-phase painting process. As a result the cabinets looked like rusted steel. I recall there were actually metal flecks in the paint. I've searched for the product but have come up empty.

I'm an artist and want to make models for my large exterior steel pieces look as close to the real thing as possible without actually being fabricated out of steel.

Does anybody know where I can find this paint?
