BA surface finish
I simply need to know what the BA stands for in AISI 304 or 316 surface finish. Just the names of the processes, please. For ex. Annealed, skin passed etc.

Tommi:
BA refers to Bright Annealed. A bright annealed finish is a mirror-like appearance produced by cold rolling, then annealing in a controlled atmosphere furnace. The final appearance is developed by a single light skin pass through a cold mill over highly polished rolls, but is also dependent on additional millwork, such as grinding the surface at an intermediate gauge. A bright annealed finish is often specified for architectual applications or where highly reflective surface is desired on the as-fabricated part.
I hope this is useful.
