Honing Surface Finish Standards
Q. I wanted to Know about the Finishing Standards used in the Honing process of the Cylinder Bore in the Engines some of them mentioned as Rz, Rv , Rvk, Tp2, Tpmax etc., briefly.

Please give the details of the below honing specification.
HONED ACCORDING TO :
GEHONT NACH : 852 008 800 4 (JED - 880).
Machining - Kolhapur, MAHARASTRA , INDIA.

A. Hi Umesh. I believe "Gehont" means "honed" in German, and that "nach" means "per" or "to" (I don't know German). But you really can't proceed this way.
If you don't have this "852 008 800 4" standard from "JED-880" (which is completely unfamiliar to me), you must contact the buyer and tell them you need copies of whatever standards and specifications you are being asked to process according to if you can't find them. Best of luck.
