Re-plating previously plated plastic parts

I strip metals but would like to learn more about removal of plating from plastic parts as a means of preparing them to be replated. Can I use similar systems as I currently use? Are the chemicals the same? Will the part be dimensionally OK and will the surface finish be acceptable for replating, etc.

I'm thinking of adding onto my business plan and taking on more customers and need some help on what to do in this new endeavor.

Plating on plastics is a skilled job, so you need to understand the chemistry of what you are doing. Since you intend to strip already plated parts, you know the parts can be done, but there are numerous methods of preparing the plastics for plating - you will need to know these too. You do not say how you currently strip metals, so unless you give us the details, hook, line and sinker, no-one will know if you can use your current methods.
