Zinc plating with zinc oxide
Q. Dear sir I want to do zinc electroplating on steel. If I displace zinc cyanide to zinc oxide ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , what happens within bath and deposit. Thanks,

A. What happens is it probably won't work :-)
You may need to purchase a proprietary process from a supplier who offers non-cyanide alkaline zinc plating chemistry. For efficiency you may also need some new equipment including a "generation tank". Zinc oxide without proper additives and control will yield an unsatisfactory deposit.
