How to color stainless steel?
Dear Information Provider
Need your help.
I would like to know what are the various (electrochemical)colourings possible on Stainless steel substrate. What are the coloured surface properties (like colour fastness, resistance to heat, cooking oil, UV radiation etc)? I would like to try these colourings for household appliances. Also, I would very much appreciate, if somebody can through light on the coloured surfaces suitability for foodgrade applications.
With thanks, in advance.

Dr. Murugan:
Prismatic Stainless Steel colors stainless steel electrochemically. The coating is a chrome oxide and the light refracting through the oxide layer produces colors ranging from champagne, bronze, blue, gold to black. Since the color is created by light refraction there are no dyes or pigments which will be affected by UV. If you need more information, click below.
