Gold plating of wood metal
Hi, I am major in electrical engineering. I am having a internship at my school. There is one part of the machine I am building involved chemical, in which I have to plate gold on top of a wood metal. Could you tell me the detail of the procedure and which solution and what kind of metal have to be on the anode and on cathode? Thank you very much!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with what you mean by 'a wood metal'. You need to buy a proprietary gold plating process, and there are many vendors. However, gold plating is the last of many steps and it is difficult to tell you what those other steps need to be without more input from you about the substrate, etc.

Woods metal is a low melting temp metal somewhat like Rose metal if I remember correctly. Preparation of it for plating will take a bit of homework. It will not be easy or simple to plate.
