Remove Scratches on Mirror Glass

How would one remove slight scratches from the glass surface of an antique beveled mirror? The scratches are on the flat, not the beveled edge.

Thanks,

Polishing out the scratch and still maintaining an undistorted reflection will be extremely costly or time consuming. They fix cracks in car windshields with some type of material that I can not see the crack after it is done. You might want to investigate that avenue also. I would try it on an obscure location first to see if you want to do the whole mirror.

To remove small scratches in mirrors try rubbing a regular, not gel, toothpaste in the scratch, then buffing it out with a soft cloth.
