ANTIQUING COPPER
Q. I'M LOOKING FOR A WAY TO BROWN COPPER. I MAKE BIRDHOUSES AND LIKE TO USE ACCENTS OF BRASS OR COPPER BUT I PREFER AN AGED APPEARANCE. SO IF THE METAL HAS A SHINE, I LEAVE IT OUT IN THE WEATHER BUT THIS TAKES A LONG TIME. I APOLOGIZE IF THIS SEEMS TRIVIAL BUT I DO HOPE I GET SOME INFO.

A. Your question is not the least bit trivial, Jack! It may be, however, somewhat repetitive to our regular readers because it has been asked and answered many times here already :-)
Please see our FAQ on this topic, search the site for those related letters, or borrow from the library The Colouring, Bronzing, and Patination of Metals byHughes & Rowe ⇨
It's a beautiful "coffee table book" too. Good luck!
