Black brass

I need to stain or color cartridge brass deep black or deep blue... most of the commercial products available leaves blotchy results. Somewhat durable. Any help?

1 lit ammonia ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] 25 %
200 gr basic copper carbonate ⇦ this on eBay or Amazon [affil links]

Object must be grease and oxide free! Cold immersion(1-4 min.)!Needs strong ventilation or you can work outside! Diluted solution also works!
