Satin finish on stainless castings
I want to obtain a satin finish of 32 Ra roughness (0.8 micro millimeter) on Stainless Steel Investment Castings 304/316/304L and 316L of different contours and shapes pump casing and impellers. Obtaining this finish would be in steps I suppose. First is the casting scale, then minor surface porosity. Shall be thankful if someone could recommend a sequential process with Grit Sizes / types of abrasives to be used.

Are you sure you are talking about Ra? I wouldn't be surprised if that finish can't be achieved from your investment casting and/or parts.
