Restoring Painted Copper
We have a 75 year old English Tudor home. There is a small bow window with a copper roof that has been painted. We would like to restore this roof. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thank you!

Did you ever get an answer or do it yourself. I have the same thing I want to do.

Hello, Dan. If Lila had received a public response it would be posted here. It's possible that one of our advertisers made contact in private though. Regular paint thinners and strippers should not affect copper, as far as I know, so that's step 1. Then step 2 is to clean off any oxidation and other discolorations with a copper polish of your choice. Step 3 is to let it acquire a patina over the years.

I have a copper overhang at my new house that was spray painted black. I tried paint remover, but it did not work. What can I use to make it shine again?
