Surface preparation on a custom motorcycle frame
Q. Hello,
I want to know what I can use to "clean-up" a motorcycle frame in order to have it powdercoated. If I were to use conventional paint, I could use Bondo

, but I suspect that in preparation for powder coating I am limited to brazing and or lead...and I'm not sure about either one of them either. Can you assist me with the info I need?
Thanks,

A. BEFORE POWDER COATING, ALKALI CLEANING, THEN RINSES, THEN PHOSPHATING WILL HELP YOU FOR GOOD ADHESION.

A. Hi Carlos. You can use specialty "Bondo-like" fillers which are widely available but have some small changes in formulation to make them compatible with the temperature of powder coating ⇨
