Precipitation of hexavalent chromium
Why hexavalent chromium cannot be precipitated by hydroxide? Any explanation for this.

Hexavalent chromium is soluble even at high pH, so hydroxide will not precipitate it. It must first be reduced to the trivalent state by the addition of materials like sodium metabisulphite. I am not suggesting that you attempt it, I am answering a student question about theory.
