What caulking or crack filler to use for stamped metal roof

I am restoring a 1914? metal roof stamped in the shape of shake shingles. What material do I caulk or fill any voids cracks, etc. I plan to pressure wash with TSP (trisodium phosphate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ) from top to bottom so not to force the cracks joints further apart or force water under the metal, then prime rust areas with rust primer and then prime the whole roof before the top coats. Any other recommendations or corrections to my procedure. The final color it to be an aged copper green.

Thanks in advance,

I am very interested in the question posted re: surface preparation of old metal roof "shingles", mine are also stamped. From 1915. I have some rust and want to prep in the best way. What products do you recommend to:

1. remove the rust - is this is even needed?
2. prime?
3. paint?
4. seal?

I have had an offer of help - unsolicited - and need info to do this right.

Thank you!
