Prep of electroless nickel for soldering

I am redoing our feed-thru soldering line. We use aluminum housings plated with electroless nickel with medium phosphorus. We solder gold plated feed-thrus into c'bores in the housings. I intend to use a highly activated organic flux. I have been advised to pre-clean or etch the nickel before soldering. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Or if it is even necessary?

Yes, you need the high-activated flux to remove the oxidization on the surface. It is true the nickel and aluminium is very difficult to solder.

So, please use the flux.
