Deburr stainless steel sharp edges

Q. We are searching for a solution to sanding stainless steel bus parts. We process our parts through a #50 shot bead blast that produces a sharp edge that we must sand with a pneumatic file/sander. This process is time consuming and wasteful. If you have an alternative or another sanding method other than dynafile answer would be appreciated.

A. That is a very coarse blast media. Do your parts get painted after that? There are a couple of ways to solve the problem; however, volume is another factor that should be considered. I'm not sure I want to offer any suggestions until I know those 2 factors.

A. Try electrodeburring. This is an extension of electropolishing and can give your stainless steel parts a good bright colour as well as a protective coating.

A. If the parts are not too large, invest in a small vibratory finisher, or tumbler. The media stones will deburr all of the sharp edges. You can probably locate a used one easily.
