Polishing Titanium Plate

What is the best technique to polish Titanium plate, without chemicals?

Just doing a search on titanium and now I would like to know how to polish it as well.

This is a chemical, but low toxicity: I've heard of using India Ink [affil links] for polishing optical grade aluminium. Why no chemicals? (it might help us answer).
