How to build a plating power source?
How would I go about building 110v./300amp./single phase rectifier for a chrome plating shop?

Wouldn't it be much easier, as well as less expensive, to buy a good used one? There are plenty of used rectifiers out there.

Chrome plating hates ripple! You need to have a proper designed choke for a given power setting and a lot of capacitors and ? for a single phase unit. Go the 3 phase route and save a lot of grief.
