Components of chrome solution

2003

Dear sirs,

I'd like to ask about the chemical formula of the chrome solution used in preparing metals before spraying it with the electrostatic powder by the electrostatic gun? and this process is used in coating metals like Aluminum windows and doors. So I'd you to send me the right components and the right ratios of the chrome solution.

Thanks very much.

Yours sincerely,

Chromic acid is one component, Ahmad, and nitric acid may be another, but years of research were involved in today's formulations. You can probably find starting points in the technical literature from the 1950's, and functional requirements in MIL-C-5541, but today's chromate conversion coating are proprietary and available from Chemetall-Oakite, Heatbath Corp., EPI / Electrochemical Products Inc.
