Using galvanized sheet metal in corrosive conditions

2003

Dear Sirs,

We have a field job in East part of Turkey. The Weather conditions are very corrosive in that area and we will use chillers in this job. But we have doubts that If chillers can bear that conditions or not. Especially unit's frames, frames are made of hot-dip galvanized sheet metal but I could not find any technical information or standard about them. All the big firms produced their own stndarts and sure they don't give this informations to everyone. Especially I need the standard number or technial info. of these galvanized sheet metals for using in outdoor conditions in corrosive conditions.I need these information for the coating(galvanized) not for the thickness of the sheet I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks in advance.

Galvanizing is one of the best corrosion-proofing methods, although even better is a duplex method of galvanizing then painting. You will find the kind of information you seek from the American Galvanizers Association at www.galvanizeit.org.

Dear Sirs,

We are producing chillers and for these units we are buying galvanized metals from our suppliers. What is the best finishing method for hot-dip galvanized metal using in chiller frames. I'm asking this for standard conditions. This is the main problem for us. Thank in advance.
