Organometallics

Please inform in which organic compound, the Palladium Chloride is Soluble. I am working in the field of Palladium organometallics under inert conditions or air (moisture) sensitive organometallics.

Don't know for sure but try EDTA (ethylene diamino tetracetic acid this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ). It is a strong chelating for many metallic salts. And advise results.

If you want to transform your palladium chloride into an organometallic compound that will be be soluble in polar organic solvent, you should try to react it with benzonitrile (PhCN). This reaction is performed at high temperature 120oC in pure benzonitrile. The reaction product is a yellow powder that you can filter and washed with diethylether. It will break the polymeric nature of palladium chloride (chloride act as a bridging ligand between two atoms of palladium)and keeping the oxidation state of the palladium. You can also try a similar reaction with cyclooctadiene (COD). These reaction will turn your palladium chloride into a more compound for further reaction since the previous ligand (benzonitrile and cyclooctadiene) are readily displaced.
