How to stain steel furniture to look like bluing

I make furniture out of many different sizes of tube steel and I am looking for a product that I can spray or brush on that will give the look of bluing. I would like to be able to get black and possible other colors as well. Keep in mind my shop is my Garage so I am limited. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,

Rose Head Nails

Russ,

Did you find any products? I'm trying to do the same, but for rose head nails. Gun shops may have a product for guns.

There are a number of products that are used in the automobile restoration arena... Ospho [adv: Ospho on eBay or Amazon [affil links] is one, Permatex Rust Treatment [affil links] is another. These products change the oxide created by the rust to a phosphate that ends up almost black. another possibility is the material used to "parkerize" the shotguns used by the Pa. State patrol. I am currently experimenting with these on flat and curved body panel that I retrieve from auto wrecking yards. After paint is worn, scraped, sanded or ground off the exposed metal is subject to the chemical reaction.

Ken Schmieman, I need the same product on rose head nails as well as a green and black old appearance on outside metallic furniture. So please let me know if you find any. Anabella and Alec gave me good advice but I can't get their segments anymore...did anyone get their responses?

Ed. note: "Anabella and Alec"? Sorry, but Google hasn't helped us figure out what you are referring to. A TV show maybe?
