Assistance for Ra
I have a metric customer requesting a finish of RA-08. for a aluminum section (spacer plate) for a project. What is an US equivalent or do you think he means Ra-8
Thanks,

I don't recognize the use of that reading as standard data; however, to play it safe, I suggest you call the customer to verify.

Your customer probably meant Ra=0.8 micrometers, which (multiplied by 40) corresponds to a Ra=32 microinches.

I thought Ra was measured in exclusively in microinches and not in micrometers? I agree with the earlier post, when in doubt ask the customer.
