Metal finishes

2003

I'd like to find a comparison table or something else between the following:
- Grit No.
- Mill No.
- Ra (micrometer or microinch)
- "mirror finish"
- mechanical polishing
- electropolishing

Thank you very much,

Cristina Speciale

There are charts available for the first two items, but they are unrelated. See organizations on home page for that info and their addresses. The other 4 items you requested are not or do not have charts because they are subjective terms. Meaning, an RA is a measurement result of a measuring device. A mirror finish does not necessarily have a relationship to RA. The last two items are processes to achieve surface modification on materials.
