Sulfite problem in treatment process

We have a sulfite problem in our wastewater treatment discharge. Is there a simple and fast method to oxidize sulfite to sulphate in our treatment system?(I use hydrogen peroxide but it is not enough. Is there a way to speed the oxidation rate with a catalyst?)

Iron+2 (e.g., ferrous sulfate this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] ) is commonly added as a catalyst to hydrogen peroxide to create Fenton's Reagent. For details and to determine suitability, consult http://www.h2o2.com/applications/industrialwastewater/fentonsreagent.html Sodium hypochlorite is generally a faster, less expensive oxidizer. It is used at neutral to high pH, while Fenton's Reagent is used under somewhat acidic conditions (pH 3-5).
