Powder Coating of 38mm thick MDF Panels

I am powder coating 38mm thick MDF panels and cannot prevent the finished coating edges from cracking due to expansion and contraction of the material when the panels are cured. We have a well established MDF powder coating plant and are used to painting panels up to 25mm thick, but any larger than this and the grade of board changes. I am looking for a sealer that will expand and contract with the board, or a 'hot foil' type edging that is permeable, the hot foils we have tried have 'bubbled up' due to build ups of gases being released from the board during curing. Anything out there?

A quick question - where might I find 38mm-thick MDF board?
