Satin Anodize
I am working in an engineering firm which designs, supply & install architectural metalwork. We have received an enquiry about supplying satin anodize aluminium cladding. We have no idea about 'satin anodize'. please give more details about this. Is it same with natural anodize? How is the finish look like?

I think this is similar to the clear anodic coating with caustic etch, matte finish as pre-treatment. Dissolved aluminum in the caustic solution renders a satin finish to the parts.

The definition "Satin finish" is used for "matte finish" generally. You have to remove 100-120 gr. aluminium per sq.m to obtain this finish on aluminium, in an etching solution of caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on Amazon [affil link] (free NaOH as 60-120 g/l and preferably with a proprietary additives for homogeneous appearance, at 60-65 deg.C for 10-20 minutes depending on the concentration of the solution.
