How to tarnish lead quickly

I am a fisherman and I would like to know how to tarnish my lead jigs so I don't need to paint them. I would like to make them dull.

I have some lead weights in my tackle box that has turned white from corrosion. But in your case I would roll the lead weight under my palm on some cement. This would break up the shine. You could get some rough sandpaper and work to rough the shine off. I suggest dipping the lead weights in a a color of oil based paint to dull it like a brown or dark green you know plant color of some kind. This would look good. It would protect the weight from corrosion as mine and would keep you from getting lead poisoning too. Lead can give head aches and a dull stupid feeling as well. Have fun fishing and catch em all.
