Finish of Electropolishing

What is the Microfinish value achievable in Stainless steel Investment Castings? I would like to know whether it is possible to achieve 0.70 to 0.8 R.A of Finish in Investment Castings.

Dear Mr. Gowrishankar,

It is not possible to obtain an as cast surface finish of 0.7 to 0.8 Ra finish on investment castings. Mechanical polishing is required. You can try finishing in a vibratory bed using recommended grades of ceramic media but again the finish obtained will depend upon the moc of the casting.
