What does "hologram" mean?




What does "hologram" mean? What's technology of it? I want to write some science project about hologram, do you have some idea for me ?

This is an electroformed or plated image that appears to be in three dimensions, but is really only two. It is made by using lasers to image a photosensitive sheet through a suitable mask. It is widely used on credit cards, bank notes, etc.

I think it should be a device which is used in DVD and CD-Rom driver in order to read data from a CD or DVD.
