Coating without hexavalent chromium, dull silver, 240 h corrosion resistance minimum

2002

Hello,

I work in motor industry, and I'd like to ask some questions about the plating. Because of legislation we have to remove hexavalent chromium from plating till 1st of July 2003.

My questions are:

1) Does the Dacromet contains hexavalent chromium?
2) Could anyone specify coating without hexavalent chromium, with 240 hours for salt spray corrosion resistance (minimum), dull silver colour? - Could it be any kind of zinc coatings?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Best regards,

I can only answer your first question. Dacromet does have hex chrome, but Geomet is their hex chrome free alternative.
