Zinc Plating peels off

We are supplying some zn plated with yellow passivated components for exhaust systems i.e., support hooks in exhaust pipes. These hooks are to be welded in pipes after plating. We are facing following problems. There is a plating peel off after welding. We also faced another problem some times back i.e., there was heavy fumes after welding

SURESH BABU,

The peeling problem on chromate plated parts with different reasons, I think you have to check the zinc thickness on the part (may be too much), or your part are too bright (may be over brightener add ) black smut or oil on part did not clean good during your plating process.
