Will Powder Coating Baking Temperature Damage Alloy Wheels
2002
A QUESTION ABOUT POWDERCOATING; IS THERE ANY RISK OF CHANGING THE COMPOSITION OF ALUMINUM ALLOY WHEELS DUE TO THE BAKE CURING PROCESS IN POWDER COATING?
Aaron Matthew Bork- Parksville, B.C., CANADA
It is no problem to change the composition of the alloy as long as it can withstand the curing temperature of the powder being applied.
Use pre heating at a little higher temperature that curing temperature. This will also do away with your gassing or pinholeing problem.
